Revenge of the revenge

Planet Terror B-Movie poster

This is my favorite movie right now.  I messed up a lot of Rose's hotness though.  Sorry Rose.

The Baby That Never Sleeps

My inspiration for my B-movie poster I think is obvious...it was my beautiful daughter Maggie. She loves life so much that she never sleeps...ever. Thank you to my lovely wife Kristen for taking the photos, they turned out great!

here's my b movie poster. I've been wanting to play with just shapes for sometime so i thought this would be a good opportunity for it.

John's Tron

Hey look at me. I actually did a piece this month.

I have a confession to make...I have never seen a TRON movie! I know...I know. So, not knowing much about the movies, I decided to do something a little experimental with this theme. I found a great reference piece online of 3-d type being created from cutting and folding over a single piece of paper. I thought the TRON type would work great in this style.

I created a digital pattern in Illustrator and printed on both sides of the paper so the TRON logo would really pop off its background.

This was a really fun experiment. Looking forward to getting back into my sketchbook for our next theme!

Tron Guy Gets An Upgrade.

Pretty straightforward portrait here, but I just wanted to draw Jay Maynard, because, well, look at him. He's hilarious.

The Grinch. (A Month Late)

Better late than never. Here's my take on December's theme (zoom in, there's a lot of noodle-y details):

Biggest Loser: Tron edition

Let's not kid ourselves, Hollywood:  this is what a movie about computer programmers getting sucked in to a computer-world would look like.

Busted!

Sorry for being late on this one guys! I did a quick sketch of the Grinch's mugshot. You can't just steal Christmas and think you can get away with it! CRIME DOESN'T PAY!

My inspiration:

hahaha, I love this photo!

Merry Christmas

Mr. Grinch

Here is my Grinch for the month.  Still playing around with the graphic look.
Had some fun trying to figure out how I would illustrate the Grinch in a more  graphic look.
Enjoy and happy holidays.

The Grinch Stole Christmas! And How!

Hey there fellow slackers. This is my first post to the group and look forward to future subjects to put my spin on. Here's my take on Mr.Grinch. Hope you all enjoy and have a Merry Christmas!

Jokes on Me

Howdy,
Keith asked me to join Sketch Slackers a while back and I was hesitant to join because of some pressing comic book and sculpting projects that needed my attention. I did manage to sketch and color a Joker from my sketchbook a few days ago, and Keith seemed to think that it still may relate to the Batman theme from a few weeks back. So here it is.
P.S. Great work on this blog, guys. Really has turned into something worth coming back to time and time again to see what cool stuff has been posted.

Ward's The Grinch

This is why i never make a sketch book, my sketches suck! lol.
Anywho, i had some time to spare between work and whipped this up! Hope you dig it!

I also cant believed i missed out on the comic book thing here...Oh well maybe next time.

Fat Grinch

My grinch likes twinkies and beef jerky.

A bit late...but better than never

Here's my Captain American vs. Batman. I gotta let the good ol' Cap win one.
