THANK YOU fellow slackers!!!

Hey everyone....

I really can't thank you all enough for all of your hard work and incredible talents, without which Sketch Slackers would not have been possible. I'm going to take a little time off and hopefully launch SS 2.0 in the Spring. As a thank you and a memento...I made a 'Slacker' paper toy for you all. Enjoy!

Super Zombie

EEeeeehhhh...can't...stop...making....paper....toys....
Next theme I'll get back to Illustrating. I just love doing these things so much. They're addictive! I thought it'd be fun to do a zombie Superman. I know, I know...I was already told that he couldn't be a zombie because his skin can't be pierced. BUT!...a zombie could have been munching on some kryptonite and then snacked on Superman. Problem solved!

My process:

1. Create the die lines in Illustrator and make a color palette

2. Create the vector art in Illustrator.

3.Render the Illustration and apply textures in Photoshop

4. Mock it up and shoot a photo!

Boot the Foot!

I geeked out a little about this theme. Growing up, I had every ninja turtle action figure known to man. I wanted to get going on this theme right away, however at the beginning of the month my sketch of the turtles wasn't quite coming together as well as I would have liked. So I hit the internet for some Turtles inspiration, and the Turtle Van appeared on an image search. I forgot all about this amazing mode of transportation and I thought, "Only the Ninja Turtles can pull off riding around town in a mini van....I must have this out of paper!"
I do have another idea for a Tshirt design....I may try have another Turtles post in the coming weeks.

Bert & Ernie finished

Finally! Sorry Gang...I was WAY late on this one.I know that Bert and Ernie were not technically on the Muppet Show...but since they were still the brain children of Jim Henson, I figured they must still have muppet blood in them. I created them as paper toys. They were a lot of fun to work on. The die lines took me a little longer than I expected. I promise to be on time for the next theme!
