chewie!

didnt have time to do something clever, so i just did a quick drawing of ol' chewie.

Hi Everyone!!

Hi guys, I know this illustration has nothing to do with this month's theme or anything, but I just realized I haven't post anything here since I was invited, so I feel like a douchebag. I promise I'll try to upload more stuff regularly.

This piece is for a show with The Autumn Society & Brave New Worlds that opens June 3rd.

Sketches

This has been a crazy month...as I'm sure it has been for you all as well. I tried to get some new stuff in my sketchbook but came up short. So I pulled some doodles I have done in the past. I'm really looking forward to working out a finished Illustration for Star Wars! Should be awesome!

Hank the Hipster... normal size hands and feet are way to mainstream.

El Diablo...the badest of the Mexican Wrestlers. He'll cut you with a single chest hair. Pirate Pete...He's a pirate.

Doughboy vs. Hamburger Helper

A drawing I've been wanting to finish for a while. Guess I'm done! Sorry I haven't been able to post for a while guys, life gets in the way of fun things like this. Anyways, just having some fun. Great work from everyone by the way!

: D Doughboy reigns supreme.

Brian Allen Sketches

I wanted to break out the sketchbook and draw something new, but I ran out of time.  So I'll dust off some classics:

Sketchbook & Process

Some pages from my sketchbook, drawn at dr. Sketchy and the natural history museum.

A pixelated golden gate and my distorted face.

Process for my take on Josie and the Pussycats. Maybe I'll have this done for next month's theme...

Process for a Legend of Zelda piece, focusing on the triforce as the main theme instead of oceans/wind/wolves/time travel etc...

Great work everyone! I'm really impressed by the last few themes. Sorry for disappearing for so long, I'm developing balanced schedule now and will have time to share more often :-)

Space Monkey

Sketch.... then the finished art.
No real reason for this.. but it was fun to work on. -jerm

Bert & Ernie finished

Finally! Sorry Gang...I was WAY late on this one.I know that Bert and Ernie were not technically on the Muppet Show...but since they were still the brain children of Jim Henson, I figured they must still have muppet blood in them. I created them as paper toys. They were a lot of fun to work on. The die lines took me a little longer than I expected. I promise to be on time for the next theme!

Pig Pimpin Muppets T-Shirt design

Muppets: Kermit the Frog

BEACH BLANKET BEASTIE

Howdy.
Yes I am going to stop being a 'lurker' this month and post something. This is actually a poster I created a couple years ago and now sell through my blog store. It fit the theme this month, so I thought that I would join the fun.
As usual, Great work from everyone!

Man with a Mustache

Man with a Mustache is is soon starting a short film project of 10 short films all summed up with the title "Life in a Hardshell." Sounds funny from what I've read so far. I wanted to do more with the guitar case with weird stuff kinda fallin out but.. I can't spend anymore time on this. Maybe when the films are finished I can revist.

Revenge of the revenge

Planet Terror B-Movie poster

This is my favorite movie right now.  I messed up a lot of Rose's hotness though.  Sorry Rose.

The Baby That Never Sleeps

My inspiration for my B-movie poster I think is obvious...it was my beautiful daughter Maggie. She loves life so much that she never sleeps...ever. Thank you to my lovely wife Kristen for taking the photos, they turned out great!

here's my b movie poster. I've been wanting to play with just shapes for sometime so i thought this would be a good opportunity for it.

John's Tron

Hey look at me. I actually did a piece this month.

I have a confession to make...I have never seen a TRON movie! I know...I know. So, not knowing much about the movies, I decided to do something a little experimental with this theme. I found a great reference piece online of 3-d type being created from cutting and folding over a single piece of paper. I thought the TRON type would work great in this style.

I created a digital pattern in Illustrator and printed on both sides of the paper so the TRON logo would really pop off its background.

This was a really fun experiment. Looking forward to getting back into my sketchbook for our next theme!

Tron Guy Gets An Upgrade.

Pretty straightforward portrait here, but I just wanted to draw Jay Maynard, because, well, look at him. He's hilarious.
